MACABEBE- The first ever Kapampangan Chorale Festival in Macabebe, Pampanga held at the San Nicholas De Tolentino Parish last January 16, 2012 was a full success.
The said Chorale Festival was joined by different secondary schools from the town of Macabebe who showed their vocal abilities by interpreting the sole music of the town, the “Imno ning Macabebe,” wherein the Saint Nichols Academy Chorale, under their music coach Mr. Don Jeremy Cancio, prevailed in the first place.
What makes this Kapampangan Chorale Festival different is that for the first time, the Imno ning Macabebe was the only contest piece practiced and used by the student – choir-contestants – and not the famous Imno ning Kapampangan.
According to Mrs. Perlita S. Calara, one of the organizers of the event, alongside Mr. Rey G. Yumang, it was an amazing chorale festival despite the fact that some participants did not pursue anymore their appearances to the said competition.
Meanwhile, here is the list of the secondary schools’ chorale that showcased their vocal talents for the first Kapampangan Chorale Festival:
Caduang Tete National High School Chorale
Colegio De San Lorenzo Chorale
Saint Nichols Academy Chorale
Sta. Maria National High School Chorale
